Vaybak! Vaybak!

Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers with Vayo. We describe the app as it is today and say clearly what arrives with the next version.

Getting started

What is Vaybak!?

Vaybak! is a calm discovery app for children: short vertical videos (Kıvıl), longer videos (Watch), discovery cards (Explore) and mini games (Play). No ads, no endless feed, and you set the time. 🎈

What ages is it for?

Made for little ones from age 2, and up to about 8. When you add a profile you pick an age group (like 2+, 3+ or 5+) and what your child sees follows it. With the very youngest, using it together is lovely. 💛

Where do I download Vaybak!?

From the download section on the home page. While the Google Play and App Store buttons say “Coming soon”, there is a direct download for Android for now: tap “Download for Android”, open the file and, if Android asks, say “allow”. Once the buttons are live, install the app from the store.

What do I do on first launch?

Open the app and tap “Set up as a parent”. A short grown-up question (a multiplication in words) comes first, then you choose a 4-digit parent PIN. Then add a child profile: a nickname, an icon and an age group are enough. We never ask for a real name or photo.

Do I need the internet?

Videos and cards come from vaybak.app, so mostly yes. In the parent area you can save chosen videos on Wi-Fi as offline packs for trips, and family videos picked from your phone play without internet. The time limit works with no connection too. 📶

Which languages does it speak?

The app speaks Turkish and English. In the parent area, “Language and region” lets you choose the app language, your region and the content languages your child sees. Content without speech is always shown.

Time and bedtime

How does the time limit work?

Kıvıl, Watch, Play and Explore each have their own time, 15 minutes by default. You set each one and choose whether it renews every 24 hours or every hour. You can also add one overall cap and a break rule. They are only example settings: you decide. ⏱️

What happens when time is up?

A heads-up comes before time runs out. When it does, that section closes gently while the others stay open as long as they have time. To allow more, use “Give extra time” in the parent area with your PIN. With the next app version Vayo keeps the goodbye screen company. 🎈

Does the time limit work without internet?

Yes. The timer runs on the phone, so airplane mode or switching the internet off doesn’t skip it. If the phone’s clock is changed, the child area locks for safety and you confirm the time is right.

What is bedtime?

If you like, pick a bedtime for each child (it is off by default). Before it, only calm videos and games remain, colors dim, volume halves and Kıvıl closes. At bedtime the child area closes with a “good night”. Extra time doesn’t open it, only the parent PIN does. 🌙

I have more than one child. Is the time shared?

No, each child profile has its own time and game progress. “Who’s watching?” appears when the app opens. Switching from a child whose time is up to another profile asks for the PIN, so time can’t be dodged by changing profiles.

Content and channels

Who chooses the content?

A human editor. Each item’s source, license and minimum age are recorded, and nothing without an editor’s approval and a rights record is shown to a child. Items can be suspended after publishing, and ones whose rights expire disappear on their own. ✅

Is there an endless feed or autoplay?

No. The next video never starts by itself, shelves are finite and everything has an end. No streaks, no reward pressure, no “one more” button. A child can stop whenever they like.

What are channels?

Every video comes from a channel: what we add is in the “Vaybak!” channel, and volunteer creators’ videos sit in their own approved channels. A child can like videos and follow channels; this stays on the phone only and makes no counters or notifications. No comments or messages. With the next version parents can also hide channels per child.

Can I add my own videos?

Yes: in the parent area, with your PIN, pick videos from your phone under “Family videos”. They appear only in the chosen child’s Watch section, never leave the phone, are never uploaded, and count toward time. They sit outside our approval chain, so you decide what’s suitable. 🧺

Are the narrations a real human voice?

Part of the story and card narration is a synthetic voice, not a human one. Texts are read by an editor before publishing, and you choose the narrator voice in the parent area. The next version also notes this for parents. 🔊

Safety and privacy

Are there ads, chat or trackers?

No. No ads, chat or comments, and no outside links in the child area. We use no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools, and our site sets no cookies. We don’t ask for camera, microphone, location or contacts permission either. 🚫

More: Trust center

Where is my child’s information kept?

On your phone. Nickname, age group, watch history, likes, game progress, time used and the PIN are never sent to our server. Only content-list and video requests go out, carrying no child, profile or device ID. We keep no access log with IP addresses. 🔒

What is the parent PIN for?

Settings, time limits, family videos, outside links and the report form sit behind a 4-digit PIN, out of a child’s reach. The PIN is kept only on the phone as a salted hash in secure storage, and wrong tries make the wait longer. You can change it in the parent area under “Change PIN”. 🔐

I forgot my PIN. What now? Next app version

The next version adds “I forgot my PIN” on the gate: answer two short multiplication questions and choose a new PIN. Profiles, time limits and everything else stay as they are. In today’s version the only way is to uninstall and reinstall, which also erases the local profiles.

I saw something inappropriate. How do I report it?

Write to abuse@vaybak.app right away; we review it and, if needed, take the content down immediately. The next version adds a “Report content” form in the parent area (with PIN): pick the video or channel and a reason; a note and email are optional. 🚩

Notifications

Will the app send me notifications? Next app version

With the next version, if you like: small reminders when bedtime nears, the weekly summary is ready, or there is new content or news. They go to parents only and never call a child to “come watch”. All are off by default, and permission is asked only in the PIN-protected parent area. At most one a day, quiet from 21:00 to 08:00 and during bedtime. 🔔

More: Privacy

How do notifications work and how do I turn them off? Next app version

Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself: there is no remote push service, device token or notification ID, so we never know who gets one. In the parent area, “Notifications” lets you switch each kind off one by one; you can also turn them off in the phone’s settings.

Account and support

Do I need to create an account?

No. There are no accounts for children or parents, and no login or password. Profiles and the PIN live only on your phone. Accounts exist only for adult volunteers who want to make content, and they are fully separate from child profiles.

More: Privacy

How do I delete my child’s data?

Delete the profile in the parent area and its data is removed from the phone; uninstalling the app removes everything. If you used the report form in the new version, write the code shown on screen to privacy@vaybak.app and the report is deleted right away.

More: Privacy

How can I reach you?

For general questions write to info@vaybak.app, for personal-data requests to privacy@vaybak.app, and for content or copyright reports to abuse@vaybak.app. No need to put your child’s name in an email. We love ideas and feedback too. 💌

Is Vaybak! free? How can I help?

It is free and ad-free: today Artebil covers all the costs. If you’d like to help, the Support page has bank-transfer details and other ways: sharing, suggesting content, becoming a creator. There is no purchase or payment screen in the app. 💛

More: Support

Creators

Can I become a creator?

Any volunteer over 18 can apply: open an account at creator.vaybak.app, verify your email, and our team approves your application. Contributing is entirely voluntary, with no fee or revenue share. A creator account is fully separate from child profiles. 🎨

More: Creator Center

Which videos can I upload?

Original videos you hold the rights to, suitable for children, at least 720p and up to 10 minutes. “Looks free on the internet” is not a license: without proof it isn’t published. We don’t accept videos downloaded from YouTube, TikTok and the like. If a child appears, extra rights evidence is required.

More: How we choose content

How is my video reviewed, and can I see its status?

Your upload goes through a virus scan and an editor review, and your rights declarations are checked. On the My channel page you see each video’s status (in review, changes requested, published…) and the editor’s note; view or like counts are not shown. Your name appears on the Heroes page only with your consent.
